Kologik | Connected Officers – Safer Communities

By Chris Carden, Account Executive, Kologik

The landscape in the criminal justice industry is far different today than it was when I first started my career. In those days law enforcement technology was extremely limited and unless you worked at a big budget agency you had little to no experience with technology. I remember when Jake and Elwood, The Blues Brothers, got pulled over by the cops. Ellwood hoped the cops didn’t have “SCMODS” or State, County, Municipal, Offender, Data, System. We have certainly come a long way since then.

Now days, it seems that everything our men and women in law enforcement use is either tied directly to or is a standalone piece of technology. The cost of which, continues to rise. If a chief wants to stay current with technology, then they must be prepared to do their research, and spend the budget on the right solution, at the right time, and for the right reasons. The day has passed where you fixed your technical shortfalls with a little of this and a little of that.

So, after years of using different tools to capture data that law enforcement needs to be safe and effective; there are now holistic systems that are cloud based and can accomplish everything an agency needs.

Kologik is a perfect example of a reliable, secure, and heavily supported solution. From CAD, RMS, JMS, and COPsync, the products across Kologik’s line work seamlessly to bring public safety agencies into the 21st century. When I’m asked what makes Kologik different from its competitors my first response is always customer service. True, real, live customer support that isn’t a tag line in a marketing brochure, it’s what Kologik provides to its customers all day every day.

From the CEO to the newest employee, everyone is a customer service rep first and foremost. From my personal experience as both a leader and end user, that is something that is sorely missed in this industry. Any system can log a call and keep records managed, that’s the easy part. Effectively executing day in and day out, all while continuously engaging customers and making sure the software makes officers and communities safer, that’s where it becomes difficult; and that’s where Kologik shines.
